About Etymoleon

Leon AKA Etymoleon has long been captivated by word origins and deepened his expertise in etymology (word origins) through self study.

This journey led to the creation of Word History, a weekly 15 minute podcast dedicated to etymology. In addition to tracing the origins of words and names, he researches historical events related to the topic and terms explored.

Leon later developed Derivety, a daily word game based on etymology, where players race against the clock to uncover the day’s word, using its origin and a helpful hint as clues.

Leon combines years of marketing experience, a deep knowledge of etymology and creative insight to act as a brand naming consultant to businesses in need of a name for their company or product.
